The Children's Quilt 2016
With the assistance of Simon Mall Properties, Secretary of State John Kerry, Senator Linda Dorcina Forry and Massachusetts State Representative Marie St. Fleur WIN presented the American Alabaster Quilt for Haiti with The Permanent Mission of Haiti at the United Nations. The quilt expanded from a Massachusetts state project in 2010 to the international launch of the "Raise Your Hand for Haiti" awareness campaign for victims of the Earthquake on the island nation.
LOOKING AHEAD: The Witherspoon Institute is poised to expand WIN scholar's focus this season in raising awareness for children of disasters around the globe with the launch of the Children's Quilt 2016.
The Children's Quilt is part of the Witherspoon Institute's community world leadership project under the (SLIP) Strategic Leadership Investment Plan. joins the Quilting Bee
Dear Witherspoon Family and Friends,
Thanks for the continued support of our leadership programs 2019.
This season we are looking forward to our new collaborations with the City of Boston's Tobin Center as we launch WINArts Musical Theatre Lab. Children range from 5-24 with support from wonderful adult actor's from Boston including Thomika Bridwell and Latamra Smith. Many thanks to our instructors Deric Quest- Acting (and principal) , Maylisa Chandler - Dance Director, Brit Johnson - Professional Development /modeling, Xavier Pearson - Summer Program Manager (Principal Actor- WIZE).
We also, look forward to WINArts Musical Theatre Lab - Summer Session sponsored by The City of Boston SuccessLink | Department of Youth Engagement program. Our headquarters is located at the Dillaway-Thomas House, at which the Continental Army headquartered in 1775. The house is now a museum with exhibits of Roxbury's past and present history. We are also coupled with the Melnea Cass Recreation Arena for the evening summer session. Many thanks to our continuing WINArts partnerships with Boston Neighborhood Network News, who have provided organizational, creative and artistic support since 2016. Our Summer Session will include our WiNArts Teens becoming Video producers as they shoot scenes for our musical, WiZE which is a multi-media play including music/dance/singing and film.
Lastly, The Witherspoon Institute (WIN) Ambassadors comprised of noted philanthropic, business and art cultural leaders cannot be thanked enough for their unswerving support, encouragement and tenacity!

Madison Park Community Development Corporation’s Green Team presents the 1st Annual “green” Family Day / Yard Sale, A Day of Good Will, at Hibernian Hall,184 Dudley Street, Boston, MA 02119 in the rear parking area 9am -2pm.
Join WIN as we celebrate our launch with the Scholars Craft Table making jewelry from recycle material! Enjoy their fresh Lemonade Stand and sweet treats: baked cookies, cakes and pies.

The Witherspoon Institute is doing a fun project this season, endeavoring to keep the youth safe, engaged deeply in the arts and involved in outdoor activities this season.
So, we are hosting our Music Theatre Lab doing dance, acting and music lessons up at Franklin Park on Fridays 6pm and Saturdays 10am
We would like to invite you to participate a music video we are producing for a community shout out to the New England Patriots season welcoming our new quarterback Cam Newton into the fold. It's quite a big deal having Cam Newton replace our beloved Tom Brady!
The video shoot is August 29th. 11am 12:30pm
